JET Programme 2016

T-11 days: I figured it's finally time to make my first post about this.

Two months ago in May, I was offered a job under the Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme. It still feels extremely surreal to me. The fact that I'll be leaving my home for a long time hasn't sunk in. I went to the embassy last Friday to retrieve my passport and my new visa. So I guess it's really happening.

Over the next few posts, I'll probably be posting some information about my application process, and in two weeks' time my posts will be mainly about my life in Japan. I feel like I haven't shared enough about my life here in Singapore. But that's alright. I have enough memories to get me by.

My room is in a mess. I'm trying to figure out how to pack my entire life into two suitcases. Perhaps what is truly important shall become the intangible; omnia mea mecum porto.
